“When the app is running morning routines are completed without me having to remind the children about them. We have made up time in the morning and are now ready 10 minutes earlier than we used to be. I can thoroughly recommend the app to parents who have children between 5 and 10 years old.”

“The Morning Kids app supports and strengthens our daughters’ independence with regard to the morning routines in an easy and playful way. The app helps to create a good atmosphere in the morning, which means that we set off for school in a very good mood. The app is easy to use and intuitive for both children and adults to set up.”

“Our daughter, who is 7 years old, used to be the last to finish her routine in a morning. This is not the case any longer; she now finishes 10-15 minutes earlier than before and also thinks that it is fun. We gladly recommend the app to other parents.”

  1. This is a great start. After watching my five year old use this, here are my observations and recommendations.

My daughter is very excited to use this in the morning, and instead of grouchy she is focused and engaged in getting ready for school.

She is showing independence in using the app. I don’t really have to “supervise” her morning routine, after rehearsing a few times.

In a future update it would be great for parents to set the actual duration of each timer. Some kids take longer getting dressed or combing their hair, and being able to customize the time durations would be extremely helpful.

Also, it would be great if parents could add their own custom tasks – those that are not listed in the pre-determined default list. (Flossing is a task that is conspicuously missing! – as a side note, my daughter wants to use this for evening routines too!)

Lastly, I am not sure of the efficacy of the orange “next” button. There is opportunity to game the system, by taking advantage of the pause between steps to reduce time in the next task. (Like taking a really long time wetting a face towel first, then pushing the green go button, and the washing your face which now takes no time at all).

Anyway, we will continue to use the app because it has reduced our stress levels!

    • Fantastic story – thanks for sharing. Regarding your suggestions for further development, I can inform you that they are being developed as we speak. So if you got the paid version, you will automatically receive an update when it’s done.

      Best regards
      Peter
